Other Object is a form with fluctuating elements. Suspended in isolation, there is a sense that this form is untouched. Yet the constant flickering of the layers within this structure as it rotates begins a perpetual interaction with the light, heat and movement of the works’ surrounding environment.
As indoor heat and air currents created by inhabitants in the space rise, it drives the work to rotate and in turn, alters the form of the work. This movement creates the potential for Other Object to generate shapes that at one moment are invisible but suddenly appear when light sensitive patterns on the surface of the work come into contact with surrounding light sources. As Other Object moves, these patterns disperse and the fluctuating process continues.
